Puddle Gear Kids Rain Jackets and Pants Product Review- Let Them Have Fun- Even in the Rain
It is a rainy Friday afternoon. For some parents it is the worst kind of day. A day when the kids will be stuck inside and climbing the walls-literally.
I have 3 very rambunctious young boys and to keep them holed up inside our house on rainy days, even cold and rainy days is difficult.
I knew my boys would beg me to let them go outside and play in the rain. But I had another reason to pull on my purple dotted rain boots and go with them, as I was going to test out the Puddle Gear Rain Gear for this review.
So I took advantage of the rain and did a little experiment with the Rain Gear. I had one of my boys wear the Puddle Gear Set along with his rain boots and I had my other 2 sons wear rain coats and rain boots over their regular clothes.
I helped my boys get ready to go play outside in the rain, something they love to do when given the chance. We tested out one of the Puddle Gear's two piece sets, The Gecko Set, which includes a lined waterproof jacket with a hood, zipper and buttons and a pair of lined, waterproof overall style pants.
We were ready- rain coats and rain boots pulled on, we stepped into the cold, rainy weather. My boys were so excited to jump in the puddles and watch the water splash on each other. Then they found the mother of all puddles. A big, dirty rain-made puddle. My boys were in heaven! It was a bit cold(in the mid to low 40s)and my two younger boys were wearing their regular pants and within a short time they were shivering, cold and sopping wet. While my son wearing the Puddle Gear Rain Gear was dry and ready to play outside for another hour. His clothes were dry and kept him warm even though the day was not.
I had to rush inside to strip off the wet clothes from my two younger sons and get them warm and dry.
Playing in the rain was the highlight of their day, but playing in the rain on a cold, rainy day was difficult without the appropriate rain gear. I would highly recommend the Puddle Gear Rain jackets, pants and suits to any parent who wants to make sure their children get outside and have fun exploring their world. Special things happen when it rains or the weather turns bad that you will never get to see or explore if you are stuck inside. Worms come out when the sun is covered and it rains. Flowers close. Birds fly away, leaving when the weather turns bad. How will our kids observe their world when it's raining if they do not get to go out into it and experience it for themselves.
The Puddle Gear worked wonderfully, even on a day that was cold. A few other things that impressed me about the Puddle Gear Rain Gear: It is PVC and Phthalate Free. It is Tear Resistant, which is important to a mom with 3 boys. It is Machine Washable and dries quickly. Puddle Gear has also been tested for more than 100 chemicals and is free from all 100 of them through the Öko-Tex Standard 100, an ecological certification process. Puddle Gear is Environmentally friendly and kid-safe rain gear for tough little customers! I also liked how soft and pliable the gear was, while still being 100% waterproof. Most rain coats are stiff and are not lined. The puddle gear is very pliable and soft and warm on the inside. The cost of the Puddle Gear line runs between $50.00 and $150.00 for a jacket and pants set. Although the price may seem high to some, I would note that if you buy the gear big enough so your child can wear it for 2 years vs. 1 or if you have another child that can wear it, the cost works out better across the board. Another possibility is that if your child already has a rain jacket, consider getting a pair of the Rain pants to go with their rain coat so they will be totally warm and dry from the rain and the elements.

I did not have any concerns over the Puddle Gear Set we tested or suggestions for improvement with the product. I know at first the cost of the Rain Gear may seem expensive and more than you want to spend, but I think of it like this - consider how many times it rains or is wet outside where you live? Well, all of those times are opportunities to wear the Puddle Gear Rain Gear. And guess what ... when it rains many of us take our kids to go play at an indoor jumping house or gym or go to a movie on occasion, but if we sent our kids outside to play instead for a few of those times, the rain gear would pay for itself because it probably costs us $25.00 to take the kids to a play place or movie just one time. Just think ... your kids will be exploring, moving and exercising, learning and playing imaginatively - much more productive than a movie. I'd say it is a inexpensive way to provide hours of enjoyment, learning, and movement to our kids' rainy days. They even have 2 sets that look like a Fire Fighter and Police Man's outfits.
